flowered headbands and Florida

So Timmy and I are headed to Florida this weekend for a wedding.  I am excited but nervous because it will be our first time leaving the little guy... although I know he will be in very capable hands with his MeMe.
So as this is our "vacation" and we are going to a beach wedding...  I really want to get something new for the wedding..  I am absolutely crushing on these headbands from anthropologie!!

The roses come in yellow, black, cream and red

while the poinsettas come in yellow, grey, black and green.... ahhhh choices..

So the goal is to find a really inexpensive (and I mean really inexpensive) dress so I can splurge on a headband.  Guess I will be dragging B out after his nap... wish us luck!

Target..oh how I love thee.

I shouldn't be allowed in Target.  I just can't stick to the list in there.. always end up leaving with something extra!  I had such grand intentions but Tuesday was no different.  I got this cute tiffen box for picnics.
I justified it because the weather has been beautiful and won't last this way for long so we are outside as much as possible.  Well since I am outnumbered, we needed something masculine for our picnics right? Plus, I figured when picnic season is over I can use it as storage for jewelry, office items, etc... the list is endless (or so I have convinced myself).
So then I had to get a blanket for all this fun and since I had a Bed Bath and Beyond coupon, found this little gem in teal (the inside print matches our picnic box) and got it on the cheap with my coupon!
Great, versatile and portable blanket for outside..will get tons of use out of this.

Took both items for a test run on Wednesday and loved them...even Tim kept commenting on how cool the tiffen box was... 1st picnic a success!  Thanks Target...you make everything better :)

My new favorite ingredient!

I am crazy about Black Truffle Butter.... yummy delicious.  I have been really wanting to make a recipe I cut out of InStyle months ago.  The recipe, Truffled Orzo with Asparagus, was from the chef at The Harrison, a restaurant in NYC.  There was a big glossy picture of the meal and I am always a sucker for recipes with a picture of how it should look.  Anyway, the recipe called for Black Truffle Butter which I was able to find at Whole Foods.  I will warn you that it is very expensive... this little guy costs me $10.00.
However, it was worth every penny.....
Decadent is the only word that comes to mind when tasting the flavor that this butter adds.  It has a very strong and unique flavor and not much is needed so there was plenty of butter left over for some future experimenting.  The truffled orzo was divine and a good way to get some fresh asparagus in... you can find the recipe here.

SIMPLIFY: Week 3 - The Bedside Table

Why does Tim's bedside table always look like this?

and mine always ends up looking like this?

Hint: He weighs about 22lbs... okay, so I can't really blame it all on B.  I also have a bad habit of bringing everything I am reading/want to read or organize to bed...ugh. So this weeks simplify/organize project was to get this area cleaned up and organized once and for all.

This project actually forced me to spring clean the entire room... what a great feeling!

Sugared Fig Fan

My sis-in-law gave me this yummy candle when she came down for B's B-day party...and I am crazy about it!  I burned it about 7 hours the first time cause I just couldn't bare to blow it out...just delicious and scents up the entire house nicely.  So I was really bummed when I got on Bath and Body's website and realized they don't sell it anymore because it was a holiday scent....bummer.  Then I checked Ebay and found someone selling three of them together and cheap..score!
